I finished!

Ta Da! My first sweater. Ok, well I realize it's the size of a washcloth, but it's still a sweater. And don't forget the bear. His name is Rufus the Magnificent. That big dot on his chest is my amateur attempt to cover his seam...AKA open heart surgery scar.

I must thank my current state of unemployment for allowing me to reach this goal. Without the time spent watching A Baby Story on TLC and knitting, I wouldn't even be half way done.

Yes, I'm still without work. I'm now signed up at TWO temp agencies, so hopefully something will pop up. I've also applied for some full time jobs, though I don't know what I will say if I'm called in for an interview. I'm kinda over qualified for those jobs, so I'm hoping they'll not consider the pregnancy THAT big of an issue? Just be glad to have me? Yeah? Maybe? Ok, probably not. At least I don't really have to worry about the dillema of whether to tell prospective employers or not, my stomach is not as incognito as is once was. Sigh.

Just a little over two weeks until I head home to DC for a little while. I'm taking a web development class and will get a chance to hang out with my folks and see some friends. And most importantly, eat a gyro at Milano's! I've decided that if I'm still without work by the time I get back from DC, I'm going retail. I got to get out of the house. I would do it already, but I doubt anyone would hire me with me taking a week off in a couple weeks. I'm hoping that's what's putting damper on the temp thing...that most of the jobs are for 4 or 6 weeks, and with my break in the middle, I'm not being considered. We'll see!

You can. Believe me, if I can, you can. And you probably won't have to knit scarves for 3 years before getting the guts to finally knit a sweater!
