Greetings from Vermont!

Hi everybody! Well, not everybody since about 50% of my readership is currently driving across the badlands of South Dakota.

We are finally moved in and the unpacking is coming along nicely. The house we have rented is just my style. Old and big and right in the middle of the city. We are 3 blocks from the waterfront and 2 blocks from the main thoroughfare of "Church Street." Burlington really is a beautiful city. I should have some pictures soon, just waiting for the weather to cooperate...hopefully this weekend I'll get a chance to take some good ones.

This week has been very busy setting up bank accounts, finding a doctor, getting parking permits and the whole DMV experience. I finally feel settled. Tubbs seems to be adjusting ok, though the wooden stairs are not exactly his cup of tea. He shows his age as he gingerly climbs up with furry feet, trying not to slip. He has even found his spot to lounge. Currently he is sprawled out at the top of the guest bedroom bed, chin on paws, peering out the window. In the old house, the guest room was always off limits, but I feel bad denying him this little pleasure after uprooting him. I've put down a blanket so he doesn't get the bed all 'doggy.'

I'm hoping to start working next week. I've signed up with a temp agency and just waiting for my first assignment. Definitely looking forward to getting out of the house and earning a little money. I'll let you know how it goes.

Wish I had a little more to tell you, but cleaning and arranging furniture is not exactly exciting stuff to write about. This will be our first weekend after the initial move-in flurry of activity, so we plan to explore a little more. We're going to drive up to the islands for lunch...it's supposed to be really nice up there. Perhaps we'll even find a place to rent boats. Looking forward to getting on the water for the first time.

Oh, in baby news...well, not much in baby news except that I'm starting to look like I have a beer belly. Haven't put on much weight, but I'm definitely sticking out a bit. Didn't get a doctors appointment until July. Good news is that they think they can do an ultrasound then so we can find out if it's a boy or a girl! I think it's a girl, J thinks it's a boy. At least one of us will be right. I've also branched out bravely into the world of baby sweaters with my knitting. No more scarves! For now, that is. I successfully finished the back and am now working on the front. It's white, so gender neutral and will camoflage spit up...I'll take pics of that too.

Hope everyone is well! Off to the post office!

Glad you are all settled in your new place! Can't wait to see some pics of the town.

I also can't wait to learn the sex of the new addition!
