a plan.

I was blessed with a new camera as an early birthday present from my folks, and unfortunately, it needs to head back to the manufacturer for a little tune up. No big deal, but I've had it for a week and I'm sad to see it go. I still have my old camera, but I have to admit, the new one is quite a bit nicer. I had been toying with the idea of taking child portraits in order to earn a little extra dough, and armed with some upgraded gear, it seemed it was time to put that plan into action. So the boys have been my practice models, and I've been trying to get in as many snaps as I can before I ship off my camera this morning.

Now for the next few weeks I'll be going through my archives to find some old gems and perhaps some pictures of children other than my own (needle in a haystack, no?) and putting together a small porfolio. When I get my camera back, I hope to do a few pro bono shoots for some friends, just to get my feet wet. I'm also excited that a friend is jumping into wedding photography and has asked me to assist her when she needs it. Awesome! And another old high school friend has announced her leap into photog for hire. Such inpirational women. It's hard not to think it's all for a reason....
