Reclaiming the yard

Yesterday was the first day in a long time we spent time in the backyard. I spent a hung chunk of the time picking up dog poo. I was itchin to do more, but alot of the ground is still frozen. A happy byproduct of the sad demise of our Elm tree is the gigantic pile of mulch, but a shovel could only scratch the upper most layer free. It's a little frustrating. I kind of count on the Spring frenzy brought on by warming temps and longer days to get some work done. If I don't take advantage of that early spring motivation, well, things tend to get a little half done. But it's still a little early to hope for too much. At this point I'll just be happy if the rest of the snow melts.
