Proof we went to Maine...

So we're back. And unpacked! Ok, we're not unpacked, but we're definitely back.

I've spent the better part of baby sleeping time the past two days going through the insane number of pictures I took while on vacation. I'll share a few here, but to see a whole bunch (not even close to all of them, either, ugh) just click here for my Maine flickr set.

Well, I must say that was an awesome little place to go on vacation. We really lucked out with the house. Our budget did not allow for beachfront, or really even walk to beachfront, but when I found a cottage on the harbor, I thought, sure, why not. Not like we were going to go swimming in Maine in September anyway. But at least I can look at some water, and boats and maybe a bird or two? I was not familar with Cape Porpoise, but was assured by the owner that it would be much better than Kennebunkport...no tour buses and kitchy lighthouse statue stores. And she was right on.

I'll update more about what we did, but for now, here's the typical Maine things you would have expected us to see.

Lighthouse...

Fog...

Nautical themed house adornments...

Rocky shore...

Weathered wood shake house...

Lobster Boat

Lobster pots...

I guess what I'm missing is an actual lobster, but alas, we ate all that we saw. Here's the restaurant we went to a bunch, and they had a lobster mailbox? Close enough.

And what about the gristled old lobster man, bedecked in yellow slickers with one eye cocked like popeye as he rubs his short grey whiskers? I smelled a few guys at the General Store, and I must say, I didn't want to get close enough to take their pictures. But I'm sure that old codger exists somewhere around Cape Porpoise...and he drives a Dodge Neon.

I know, so where are the pictures of the boys?! Yes, yes, they will come. I promise. And you can go check out the flickr link above to see some. I'm just taking a break from all the Flickring and photoshoping and what not. It's just that it would probably nice that those pictures come with some actual explainations of where we were and what we did...not really possible with the amount of sleep I've had so just be patient. We'll be right back.
